Overview
A Wienerschnitzel franchise offers the opportunity to be part of the
World’s largest hot dog chain. With over 45 years of proven success,
Wienerschnitzel’s line of hot dogs, including its famous chili dogs,
provide a unique and competitive position in the fast food marketplace.
Wienerschnitzel utilizes a combination of national, regional and local advertising programs, including an Advertising Co-op in most areas of the West. Additionally, Wienerschnitzel has a very effective purchasing and distribution program that provides quality products at extremely competitive prices to its franchise community through a network of approved suppliers and distributors.
Franchisees may choose from three freestanding building designs with land-size requirements from approximately 17,500 square feet to 22,000 square feet, or a lease of end cap space with a drive-thru that is approximately 1,800 square feet. Building and equipment packages range from approximately $350,000 to $1,000,000. GGI will provide a list of banks and commercial lenders that work with Wienerschnitzel franchisees. (GGI does not provide financing for franchisee development.)

Products & Services
When it comes to pushing the boundaries of taste, we really know what
we’re doing. Back in 1961, 23-year-old fast-food entrepreneur John
Galardi saw an opportunity and started Wienerschnitzel with the opening
of a single hot dog stand. Since that time, we have taken our love for
all-things-hot-dog and opened over 340 stores in ten states, and even
Guam, to become The World's Largest Hot Dog Chain and one of the
largest privately owned fast-food restaurant chains in the nation.
We’re responsible for over 120 million hot dogs sold per year! Besides
our signature chili dog, we're also loved for our delicious corn dogs,
chili cheese fries and chili cheeseburgers. And to up the ante even
further, we’ve added the delicious soft serve treats of Tastee-Freez.
So if you’re on the search for food that pleases the palate and
stretches the imagination, look no further.
Training & Support
Wienerschnitzel is owned by Galardi Group. The Galardi Group
training program, “Basic Restaurant Operations”, is a comprehensive
six-week program designed to acquaint the Operator in Training (OIT)
with the day-to-day requirements of operating a Wienerschnitzel
restaurant. It is specifically designed to meet the needs of
prospective franchisees that fall within all levels of restaurant and
business experience and to effectively prepare franchisees to operate
as successful, independent business people.
The curriculum includes the basic “floor skills” franchisees will find necessary to operate all of the production and service stations within their Wienerschnitzel restaurant. They are also educated in labor laws, team building, payroll and checkbook procedures, ServeSafe sanitation, inventory and food cost control, maximizing profits, interpretation of the balance sheet and income statement, scheduling, handling customer complaints, interviewing and hiring, marketing, preventive maintenance, and more. There are approximately 25 written homework assignments and three written examinations during the six-week program.
The program consists of a six-day work week, each day averaging about ten hours, not including time for reading and home study. Approximately seven days of the six weeks are spent in the classroom located at Galardi Group’s headquarters in Newport Beach, California. The remainder of the instruction will take place within an operating restaurant.
Our trainers have considerable experience in successfully operating fast-food restaurants, as well as in instructing others in the skills necessary to do likewise. We direct our total effort and concentration toward properly preparing and educating the OIT. The Training Department has no operational responsibility for the store in which the OIT is trained.
Wienerschnitzel offers support throughout the restaurant development process, including the areas of: referencing several banks to obtain SBA and conventional financing, site evaluation, training, and obtaining design and construction plans. We also offer an operations team for your restaurant opening.
Ongoing support consists of our supplying a franchise field representative for every 35 locations, management training, providing marketing materials, and providing an established distribution system. You can also enjoy getting together with us for our National Operators Seminar, as well as for various regional meetings.

Why Wienerschnitzel?
“One of the greatest opportunities
in my life was becoming a franchisee of Wienerschnitzel. It put me in a
very high tax bracket.”
– Bill Linder, Franchisee since 1974

Are You a Good Fit for Wienerschnitzel?
Your restaurant will need to be located on high-traffic major
arterials and within close proximity of commercial, retail or
employment centers. The site should have left-turn access, good
visibility, adequate signage, and it should be near other successful
commercial establishments. Shopping center pads (freestanding or end
cap with drive-thru) and signalized intersections are preferred, as is
the going-home side of the street. 18,000 to 30,000 square feet of land
is required.
Your restaurant must be located beyond a half mile radius of any existing Wienerschnitzel location, and beyond one mile if located on the same street.
The residential population should be a minimum of 10,000 people within a one-mile radius surrounding your restaurant; 25,000 people within a two-mile radius; and 50,000 within a three-mile radius. Fifty percent of people within a two-mile radius should be composed of middle-income households.
