Overview
Truth be told, providing great tasting pizza at an affordable price
is a challenge. Nonetheless, we've found a way to make it happen. In
fact, our methods can easily be taught to anyone interested in owning
and operating their own Toppers Pizza. Using tried and true business
principles, we began the Toppers Pizza Franchise Program in 1997. The
way we work ensures that every store meets the high standards set for
both our product and our service. Simply put, we don't accept
mediocrity in any of our stores. We expect excellence in every aspect
of our business.
We set equally high standards when it comes to building new franchise partnerships. We measure the growth of our company by the excellence of each and every store we open. We believe that we have a solid strategy and systemized business formula that will allow our new franchisees to compete with and outperform our largest competitors.

Products & Services
Toppers Pizza was born on August 9, 1991 in Champaign, Illinois. From
the start, our founding vision was simple—provide customers with the
best of both worlds: great pizza coupled with fast delivery. Thousands
and thousands of pizzas later, that founding vision has not been
blurred, compromised, or questioned. After all, it makes us who we are:
Toppers Pizza. So we’ll continue to make great tasting pizza. We’ll
continue to offer fast delivery. We’ll continue to do what we do best.
Training & Support
You'll receive a comprehensive, confidential Topper's Pizza
Operations Manual covering the important facets of your store's
operation. You'll also receive support from our Field Representatives.
These Representatives are carefully selected to ensure a proper mix of
academic knowledge and practical experience. These skills are often
gained within our own franchise system. By staying in close contact,
we'll know the strengths and weaknesses of your business and how to
best assist you. We'll be there to help your business improve and grow.
As a franchisee, you'll have hands-on assistance available in all areas
of your business.
Our Field Representatives will offer your store consultation and training in:
In addition, Toppers Pizza maintains a complete staff of franchise support personnel to ensure efficient administration and program coordination. Regardless of the level of industry experience you may or may not have, we will provide you with the support and training you'll need to run your business.
Toppers Pizza uses stores near our corporate offices in Whitewater, Wisconsin for new franchisee training and additional follow-up training. Each new franchisee and/or management team is required to attend a training program for a minimum of 30 days, taught by several qualified individuals. This comprehensive program combines both classroom instruction and on-the-job training for approximately 55 hours per week. It covers basic principles of management, scheduling, food preparation, customer service, sanitation, and other details vital to the success of your new business.
You'll use our professional training manuals and systems to train your hourly employees and assistant managers. These materials have been developed and tested over several years to make training your team as simple, comprehensive, and effective as possible.
Our Field Representatives and corporate support staff will assist you in maintaining and growing your new business. Our staff's expert training will provide you with the tools and knowledge you'll need to make your store a success.

- Management training
- Business planning, projecting, and budgeting
- Maximizing financial performance
- Cost controls
- Cash flow management
- Customer and community relations

Are You a Good Fit for Topper's Pizza?
Obviously, applicants who have managed people in the restaurant
industry or the pizza delivery business are especially well-prepared
for the work required. Retail managers or those who have retail
business experience also have very useful skills. While such experience
is helpful, it certainly is not a requirement. Most people in the
restaurant business today came from totally unrelated fields without
any intention of owning a restaurant. Once in, they found that it is
consuming and rewarding work that can provide a lifetime of challenges
and opportunities. Our extensive management training program and the
ongoing guidance from your franchise representative more than prepares
you to manage and operate your store.
After subtracting your total liabilities from your total assets you must have a minimum net worth of $100,000. Rent, household goods, jewelry, and other personal items are not considered for net worth totals. If your net worth is below $100,000 you can still qualify for a Toppers Pizza franchise by securing a partner whose net worth does meet our minimum requirement. You would need to supply us with a resume and Personal and Financial Application for each member of your potential franchise group.
