Overview
A Unique Philosophy
The way in which you will interact with us, combined with the unique business opportunity, creates a franchise like no other. We will give you the tools and support. You will build the business and benefit from its success. We think our galleries are second to none, and would like for the world to see just what we have created. Every day our customers tell us, "We've been to a lot of galleries and done a lot of traveling, but have never seen anything more beautiful." We never tire of that compliment.

Creating A Destiny
Jon Burke and Jack Butler have known each other since they were 9 years old. At that early age, they had no idea they would find themselves creating a lucrative business in a field that was uncharted territory for either of them. Rather than entering into the churn-and-burn world of the corporate giants, Jon and Jack set out to create their own destiny in the Oregon coastal town of Florence. With considerable guidance and support from family and friends, they developed a distinctive concept of combining unique jewelry and limited edition art-work in a compelling gallery setting.
The First Gallery
On June 9, 1990, the Blue Heron Gallery opened its doors, and an exquisite new gallery format was born, based on a marine ocean theme. Today they own seven galleries. They have approximately thirty employees and are widely respected by the nearly five hundred artists they represent.
With a large amount of hard work, confidence in their abilities, and by surrounding themselves with talented people, Jon and Jack have created a thriving business that allows them autonomy in their work life and the flexibility to spend more time with family and friends. Jack and Jon wanted to expand their business without sacrificing the quality of life for which they had worked so hard. Daily, gallery visitors asked, "When will you open a place like this in our town? A unique franchise opportunity would offer the perfect expansion solution. It was time to create Shorelines Gallery.
Sharing their Expertise
In the beginning, they didn't have an expertise in the world of art, but they did have an expertise in business. With that expertise they developed a very successful business concept. Their goal is to make you as successful as they have been through their time-tested techniques and strategies.

Training & Support

The same quality of commitment we have brought to our individual galleries is the quality of commitment we bring to those who choose to be our franchise partners. These are the "keys" we offer to unlock your personal treasure chest of success as a Shorelines Gallery owner entrepreneur:
- We provide the steps to being successful, which if followed, create success.
- We provide lease-hold improvements and complete gallery set-up.
- We provide the owner training, manager training and merchandising training that has made our family of galleries successful. We will maintain contact with you as an owner entrepreneur and will assist in any and all phases of operation. However, our training will be clear and complete enough that you can successfully operate on your own.
- We will show you how to train and manage your employees to become an empowered team of people who provide top-flight customer service without pressure or intimidation.
- We provide a solid foundation of artists and vendors whose work has proven appealing to customers with varied tastes and economic means. We also provide guidelines to allow individuals to seek out and develop local artists and vendors that are compatible with the Shorelines Gallery image and concept, reflecting the personality of the owner entrepreneur.
- We share our knowledge of how to build a customer base and lasting customer relationships.
Why Shorelines Gallery?

What Sets Us Apart
Would you rather flip burgers, make sandwiches, clean someone's carpet like other franchises offer... or sell exquisite jewelry, sculpture, and art glass? Our relaxed gallery atmosphere, combined with beautiful, fun to sell items gives "self-employment" a whole new meaning.
A Solid Inventory Base with Room for Your Personality
Our owner entrepreneurs will benefit from our proven experience in creating unique and breathtaking displays, solid relationships with customers, vendors and artists. You will gain the benefit of buying products through the company's distribution channels. We have created long-lasting relationships with our artists and vendors that will provide you with a strong business base.
In addition, you will have the ability to focus a portion of your inventory on items that meet the needs of your local market. We will provide merchandising guidance, but we feel that you, as an owner entrepreneur, should create an environment that is truly reflective of your personality and customer base. This is in contrast to many franchisers that seek to "control" their franchisees rather than guide them.
