Overview
Thank you for considering a Service Team Of Professionals franchise. We are very proud of the track record we've built since 1971. We began as a business consulting company. By the 1980's, our workload was full with restoration and construction companies in need of growth, organization and systems. Demand from start-up entrepreneurs led us to become a franchise in 1996. The true test for any franchise is the happiness of their franchisees. We beg you to speak with ours. This is a very serious decision for you. We urge you to treat it as such.

HISTORY
In 1971, after moving through the ranks of industry (General Dynamics, Honeywell, BF Goodrich [Rohr]), Mack Clark set out on his own to provide small companies with the management and production tools he had learned from Big Business. By the early 80's, he had "earned his stripes" and has ever since been considered the premier management and marketing consultant to the building trades. He's still at it everyday; on the phones and available to you along with a staff of expert management & technical consultants ...just ask our franchisees!

Training & Support
Preparation/Up-front Training: Our Initial Training covers everything you need to kick off your new business. You'll get hands-on training on how to do the work. You will learn industry vocabulary. Most importantly, we will build your S.T.O.P Master Business Plan which lines out your goals, your budget and your marketing strategies. This is your personalized S.T.O.P blueprint that you will follow throughout the year. You will be more prepared than many of your competitors (and you just started)! Your S.T.O.P Plan will guide you, keep you in control, and create a sense of urgency that every achiever needs. Your knowledge of the immediate challenges will equip you to aggressively attack your market the day you get home.
An expert to call on any time of day, week, month, year, life of the business: Isn't this the reason you're buying a franchise? Unless you are already an expert, you will need (and be smart) to call on an expert from time to time. We have a saying at S.T.O.P "The best clients call the most." It's true. Our biggest, most profitable clients call us nearly every day. You will have questions about jobs, sales, marketing, negotiating, equipment, purchases, customers, products, subcontractors, employees, money, time, vehicles... The list goes on and on. These are the real things that need attention in a service company. The reason S.T.O.P is the absolute best service franchise available is our commitment to help you NEVER MAKE A BAD DECISION. On-going Management Development Training: Running a business successfully is a talent. Business talent, to a degree, is inherited. But to a larger degree, it is learned. Similar to learning how to play the piano, practice makes perfect. So, to help you stay sharp on your "instrument," we hold three two-day S.T.O.P Executive Development Meetings each year. These meetings give us the chance and flexibility to address common challenges in technical, management and marketing. These meetings are usually held at our headquarters.

Are You a Good Fit for Service Team of Professionals?
- Protected Territory: Yes - retail marketing and advertising is prohibited outside franchise area. Territory size: Up to 300,000 population.
- Initial Training*: One week at our headquarters & work with other franchisees if desired. *We pay for hotel and food.
- On-going training*: Three 2-day meetings per year. *We pay for hotel and food at all contractual training meetings.
- Experience of Franchisor: 34 year-old company; Franchising since 1996. Founded in 1971 as a business consulting company.
- Litigation: We've never been sued; nor even threatened to be sued. We have happy franchisees.
- Bankruptcy: No officer of S.T.O.P has ever filed nor been part of a company that filed bankruptcy.
- Equipment Needs: Truck or van plus $10,000 to $15,000 for start-up companies (depending on time spent shopping, buying new or used, etc.). We offer tools/tool packages for both S.T.O.P Plans at market $. We will happily direct you to other sources of quality equipment.
- Rent: You may work from your house at start-up. Growth rate will dictate need for office / shop.
- Total Investment: Initial fee, Equipment, and we recommend 3-6 months of survival money.
- Trademarks: The S.T.O.P logo is registered (#2,555,805) with the USPTO.
- Earnings Claims: 30 full-year 2006 franchisees did $29.794.000+ in sales. Average=$993,000 Median= $658,000. All three $ amounts grew in 2006 over 2005. See U.F.O.C. for more details.
Two Plans:
- Plan A) Water, Smoke, Fire damage restoration/reconstruction; or
- Plan B) Door and Window service (inspection, repair, replacement)
- Price: Both Plans have initial fee choice of $24,000 or $34,000.
