Primrose School Franchising Company believes that as a successful professional, you might be at a point in your career where you’d like to enrich your quality of life, gain independence and make a significant contribution to your community. And while money isn’t everything, a Primrose child care franchise can also provide strong financial rewards
Products & Services
We know that parents want the very best in care and early education for their children. We also recognize the tremendous challenge this poses. Thousands of parents have found that Primrose Schools delivers on this critical need. In over 150 preschools across America, we are passionately delivering on our promise to families—to be their trusted partner and to provide the best for their children. We also understand parents want to find more balance between the demands of work and family life. We share this philosophy for ourselves, and we help our parents, management, and teaching staff achieve it also.
Primrose has become the leading choice for parents because for over twenty years, our schools have been successfully meeting parents’ needs. We do this through our accredited Balanced Learning® curriculum, which enables each child to thrive and grow through learning, play, self-esteem and character development—all in a safe, nurturing environment.
Balanced Learning
Balanced Learning is a unique blend of the two most effective strategies in early childhood education: “teacher-directed,” where teachers use research-based curriculum to guide children along a continual learning path, and “child-initiated,” where children pursue individual interests through play and exploration. Teachers support children’s learning by addressing the following subjects, which are all incorporated within the exclusive, research-based, Balanced Learning curriculum:

- A recent study by the MIT Workplace Center and the Family Initiative of Legal Momentum found that the early childhood education and child care industry generated $43 billion in revenues nationally in 2002.
Are You a Good Fit for Primrose School?
The Primrose focus on quality extends to its choice of franchisees. “We only award franchises to people with proven business acumen, a love for children and a genuine passion for improving the quality of life in their communities,” says Ms. Kirchner. “Financial security is important to everyone, but most people are also looking for the ability to make a difference, and of course we really are making a difference for thousands of children every day.”
Many of Primrose’s franchisees left prominent positions with corporate giants, such as GE and IBM, to better balance their own careers and family lives. All franchisees are required to be hands-on managers—in the schools on a daily basis—rather than simply investors, which is crucial to maintaining quality control. Almost half of the franchisees started out by having their own children in the system and 31% of Primrose franchisees have two or more schools.
