Products & Services
From humble beginnings, an industry leader is born
Big O Tires grew out of a tire-buying cooperative, founded in 1962 to supply tires to independent tire dealers. They banded together to compete against tire manufacturers' company stores and big retail chains. Americans fell in love with their cars in the 1950s. Sales of automobiles and auto-related products such as tires rose dramatically. Progressive independent tire dealers like the founding fathers of Big O Tires, saw the handwriting on the wall. They needed to grow and change to serve a new kind of market. The tire-buying cooperative quickly evolved into the Big O Tires store franchise organization. It has grown to more than 540 stores in 21 states and Canada. The stores are independently owned and operated by members of the communities in which they are located.
In July 1996, Big O Tires was bought by TBC Corporation, one of the largest sellers of tires in the world. TBC and Big O Tires continue to be focused on our customers and offering the best quality, name brand tires, wheels, accessories and automotive service we can give. In September 2005, TBC Corporation was purchased by Sumitomo Corporation of America, which is the largest whollyowned subsidiary of Tokyo based Sumitomo, one of the world's leading traders of goods and services. Big O Tires devotes itself every day, in every store, to earning the right to use our motto... Big O Tires - A Reputation You Can Ride On.

Why Big O Tires?
Monthly Regional Committee Meetings
Regional management meets with each franchisee group to hear from local franchisees and to discuss relevant issues. Each store gets an equal vote in any decisions that are made by local franchisee group.
Franchise Advisory Council (FAC)
Three times a year, elected representatives from your local franchisee group attend a forum to exchange ideas, learn new skills and discuss important aspects of the business. You’ll be kept current on all Big O events, new products, pricing, advertising and other franchisee ownership issues, as well as industry trends.
Annual Convention
All franchisees are invited and encouraged to attend this event. It is held in a different location every year and it includes a variety of fun events, entertainment and education. During Convention, new strategies and programs for the year are presented, and forums are held to discuss local, regional and national issues. Also, informational seminars cover areas such as training, finance issues and merchandising.
Real Estate Development
We understand that each franchisee has different needs, and whatever they are, we’ll help you from the ground up. Whether you want to build or convert an existing tire business, we can help you conduct site evaluations, negotiate the purchase of a site, or assist in finding the financing you might need. We also have prime facilities available for lease or purchase options. We are prepared to offer you as much or as little service as you require to make your franchise a success.
