Overview
There are approximately 200 total stores in the Econo Lube N' Tune & Brakes
portfolio, with approximately 20 company operated stores and all the
remaining franchised. The information on this web site describes the
terms of the franchises we currently offer for stores purchased from
us. If you are considering buying an existing business from one of our
franchisees, different terms may apply. We continue to
research, develop and re-invent the business in our own centers. We
have created new product and service menus; prototyped building
designs, management systems, inspection and sales techniques,
advertising and marketing plans, employee training programs, inventory
supply and distribution structures and many other innovative ways to
capture and service an increasing share of the automotive aftercare
market.
The opportunity for a prospective franchise with Econo Lube N' Tune & Brakes lies in the Company Operated locations. The opportunity is unparalleled in the industry, as we are owner-operators of these Company Stores, not just promoters of franchises. The opportunity is to purchase an up and running, fully staffed and equipped, established business with no start up and initial development tasks. We have already completed everything. The location site has been selected, it has been developed from the ground up including construction and engineering and the location has been opened for business.
We view our relationship with the franchisee as a continuing operational process. We have operated these centers for nearly 30 years, and we know what it takes for a franchise owner to succeed. If purchasing a store from the company, we will train all new franchisees with a one-week long, comprehensive course. An operations manager will assist in the actual transfer and can assist with ongoing support as needed. The concept is that as an Econo Lube N' Tune & Brakes franchisee, you are on your own, but never alone.

Why Econo Lube N' Tune & Brakes?
The future looks bright for those who wish to be
part of the automotive services after market. There are more cars on
the road today than ever before - and those cars are being driven
farther and being kept longer than in the past. According to the
Department of Transportation, there were 231.6 million registered cars
on the road in 2001. According to the Automotive Aftermarket Industry
Association, sales of aftermarket products in the automotive service
industry jumped from $229 billion in 2001 to $237 billion in 2002, and
were projected at $247 billion for 2003.
Driving and keeping cars longer is significant because the more mileage, the more an automobile needs maintenance services. Though all indicators point to increased maintenance care, a second trend is emerging on the consumer front. Studies show that there is a decrease in the number of consumers who are willing or able to perform automotive services on their own vehicles. This group, known as the "do-it-yourselfers", is diminishing. By the year 2002, experts predict that 55 to 60 percent of all vehicle owners will seek professional service centers that "do-it-for-me" when it comes to automotive repairs. These consumers will be looking for professional service centers that have trained personnel, equipment, facilities and products that deliver more thorough maintenance.
